The Blank Slate
There is an age old ongoing battle - so to speak - between whether nature (i.e. genetic & DNA) or nurture (i.e. education & training) is key to human actualization. However, the latter is favoured, and the tabula rasa approach (i.e. theory or philosophy) is dominating modern day education and training. Recent research results - especially in neuroscience - bring new perspectives, ideas and angles to the educational and training discussion table (i.e. human learning). The basic and collective assumption that education and training are core to human development and growth, no longer can be regarded as valid and important as we were lead to believe. Human beingness & human nature are far more complicated and much too diverse, to be dealt with via social, cultural, education and training conditioning and/or dogmas.
